Ball Field of Hope’s Youth Volunteers received a VIP Experience with UMPS Care and Isotopes
Some Ball Field of Hope youth volunteers were invited to participate in a VIP experience with umpires from across the world. UMPS Care Charities along with the Albuquerque Isotopes invited youth who gave back to their South Valley community to participate in activities that provided an opportunity for the young students to learn about what it takes to be an umpire in Major League Baseball. What made this so impactful is that a few of the youth currently serve as umpires for the South Valley Little League. Through this opportunity, the youth volunteers obtained an incredible job shadowing experience, helped them see value in their volunteer umping, and inspired them to continue supporting their community. The youth began envisioning many job opportunities for their future, presenting evidence in the form of deep and thoughtful questions.
