COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS

Rising Together readiness program has goals of increasing high school graduation rates and transitions to post-secondary education are met through supporting schools, communities, and partners in developing opportunities for youth to discover their interests and engage in College and Career Readiness as defined by the Graduate Profile (Spanish here).

The Supercharging the Ed Ecosystem work includes:

  • A focus on Career and College Readiness activities such as the Choose Your Own Future Challenge, and the Student Career Video Challenge. (Click here for links to Valencia County Student videos)
  • Facilitating employer/school partnerships to increase student understanding of post-high school skills necessary for the career of their choice. (Click here for examples of employer videos)
  • Supporting communities in developing their own college and career readiness programs and activities that are based on best practices and may include: student job shadows, Social-Emotional Learning, internships, as well as other activities.
  • Increase opportunities for teachers and employers to form partnerships in support of student skill development and work-based learning expansion through Summer Teacher Academies.
