Mission: Graduate and our community partners on the Attendance Support Team worked together with NMPED and APS to present school-based attendance teams with a two-hour workshop on guidance, tips, and tools for attendance during remote learning. This virtual workshop continues the conversation about the importance of attendance in lieu of a full conference this year.

Since 2015, Mission: Graduate has hosted attendance conferences during the month of September — Attendance Awareness Month. Starting in 2017 the conferences focused on supporting school-based attendance teams.

The NMPBS Zoom account holds 300 participants, and 300 attended.

PED updated participants on how to implement the Attendance for Success Act while remote and hybrid learning is taking place in the state.

Even though attendance looks different in a virtual and hybrid setting, it’s still important and we track which students are not able to connect with their teachers and find ways to support them,” says Teri Wimborne,  Mission: Graduate’s Director of Collective Impact and conference coordinator.

The workshop and materials will be sent out to all area school-based teams.
