United Way of Central New Mexico (UWCNM) has awarded $400,000 to 20 nonprofit organizations in Santa Fe County. The unrestricted grants will support a wide range of health and human service organizations.  

The 2022-2023 grantees focus their efforts on family stability and improving education and providing for food, housing and other basic needs. They also support agencies to increase their capacity with staff development and professional training, convening and/or collaborative support, and community organizing.  

“We are excited to support the great work already occurring in the county,” says Rodney Prunty, President and CEO of UWCNM. “By supporting nonprofits serving the Santa Fe communities, more people will have a chance to build a life that fosters better outcomes for themselves and their families.”

• Gerard’s House 

A gift to UWCNM by philanthropist MacKenzie Scott provided the funding in Santa Fe to help the organizations further their ability to provide for community needs and build their capacity to strengthen their programs and services. The grant applications were reviewed by Santa Fe community volunteers, and the grant awards are ratified by UWCNM’s Board.  

UWCNM also awarded $2,044,633.33 in grants to 57 health and human service agencies in the counties of Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia as a result of its annual Community Investment process to foster stronger communities.
